In this post I'm showing you how to make the giant cell phone model with the SnapChat frame, and how to make both the Puppy Filter and Deer Filter ear headbands. These accessories for these SnapChat Costumes cost very little to make and you can also complete them pretty quickly.

This year I had a hard time to think of what costume tutorials I could do; it seems like everything fun in pop culture this year has already been done. Even all the retro costume ideas are being done, too... and they're being done well, not something I could even improve on. But then it came to me - SnapChat Filters. So I created these 2 tutorials--my favourite 2--for the Puppy and the Deer SnapChat filter costumes! I'm showing you how to do the makeup in the included video tutorial, and I even show you how to create a large phone with a SnapChat frame, and how to make both the puppy ears and the deer ears to complete each costume!

YAY or NAY - Reviewing NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint

Well, folks, I am back to business after my wisdom teeth oral surgery (all 4) one week ago. Things are going seemingly alright. I've been worrying the past few days about how things are healing--I won't go into too much icky detail--but the nurse at the oral surgeons office says everything sounds like it isn't anything to be worried about... so I am trying to take that advice... trying. Luckily I was able to get a couple videos recorded for you all before my surgery so I don't have to worry about doing any while I am trying to heal.

Anyway, today I've got for you all one of my YAY or NAY product reviews! I've been using the popular NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint for the past several weeks and I want to share what I think about that product with you all here today!

Eye Makeup DO'S & DON'TS for Mature (or Hooded) Eyes

As we age our eyes become more saggy and droopy resulting in something that is called "hooded eyes". All this means is the your upper eye lid has a bit of extra skin that droops over the crease. This can happen in varying degrees and become worse the older we get. I think it's important to note that you can have hooded eyes at a younger age (two examples are Blake Lively and Emma Stone), I myself do have somewhat hooded eyelids, but in that case it is just due being born with that eye shape, and not because of age related drooping.

Punky Pumpkin Makeup Tutorial & Full Costume

It’s almost Halloween and I hope this tutorial can be a fun and quick option. I’ve taken the classic pumpkin and elevated to a PUNK-in (or Punky Pumpkin). In this post you’ll find the makeup tutorial for the Punky Pumpkin look as well as suggestions for the costume AND even downloadable photo  instructions and pattern to make the pumpkin lid fascinator hat that I’m wearing in the video and photos. So this is actually a full costume look! YAY!

Disgust Makeup Tutorial - "Inside Out" From Disney/Pixar

All the guessing over on facebook is now over! Here is my first costume tutorial for this Halloween season - Disgust from the Disney/Pixer animated film "Inside Out"! This one was so fun to do - it had me laughing quite a bit while creating the look, and everything worked out so well! The only thing I wish is that I could have found a better wig, but I made do pretty well with what I did find! Here's a side by side of me as myself and as Disgust - she's adorable!

Costume Idea #2 - Budget Costume *Sugar Skull*

K, Folks!

Here is my Costume Idea #2. As I said in my last post, and I do apologize, I meant to have more ideas than just 2 this year, but things happened. But, I’m still excited for this one because it is a Budget Costume Idea! All the supplies can be purchased from either the Dollar Store or Walmart for very little money – I would say for between $10 to $15! It’s a Day of the Dead Calavera or, more commonly known as, a Sugar Skull makeup tutorial!
 

It’s a become a very popular trend in North American countries and many others and since this is a late post, being it is only a day until Halloween, this is great for last minute Halloween plans! It’s also great because you can’t really make a mistake doing the makeup. If you’re a guy, then you can do without the scalloped edge eyes and head piece and it works for you, too. So, here’s what you’ll need to achieve this look:

Costume Idea #1 - Katy Perry "Dark Horse"

Hi Beauties (and Handsome...ies)!

Well, I’m finally here with my first Halloween costume option for you all! It’s a Katy Perry look from her Dark Horse video - Wicked Egyptian Queen!! It was a pretty fun one to do so I hope you all like it!

 

Unfortunately I will only have 2 Halloween costume ideas for you this season. :( I had a couple of others planned but things didn’t go as planned for me this month. I started out strong but, while I was visiting home in New Brunswick, two unexpected things occurred: there was funeral I stayed a little longer to attend and I passed out, for unknown reasons, and tweaked my neck which left me in pain with a heating pad and Advil to help me through. The 6 hours I spent on a plane to get back were even less comfortable than usual. :/ Buuutt, anyway… 

So, this costume is what I will be sporting on Halloween. I don’t show this in the video, I will post some photos on facebook and Instagram on Halloween, but I plan to make the shoulder/bodice piece out of cardboard and some gold spray paint. I know this won’t help anyone who decides to use this tutorial since it’ll already be Halloween, but I suggest you try and do the same if you’re gonna wear this as well! It really just has to get the look of the costume across – imagine trying to create an accurate piece like that just for a Halloween costume! Keira Knightley Inspired Look & 100 Subscriber Talk

Hey Lovelies! 

So, I haven’t done any beauty posts in a while and I decided it was time (sorry fellas who follow). What I have for you is a video tutorial for a Keira Knightley look I came across online that I just loved! I don’t often wear a lot of darker or smokey eye makeup but it’s fun to do when the impulse strikes and I just had to try this one out for myself. So, take a look:

No, I’m not fooling myself into thinking that I look anything like Keira, but that doesn’t mean I can’t copy her makeup! ;) I didn’t style my hair like hers, but if enough of you request it, then I’d love to do another video for the hair part to complete the look. You can leave me those requests in the comments section of either this blog post or the video on YouTube! This is my final look:

So, now, here’s a list of the products I use to recreate the look. You, obviously, don’t have to use the exact products I do… you can, but don’t have to. Just use the same colors in whatever you have or can find at the store. Also, as I say in the video, the bronzer appears slightly orangey in the video, but as you can see in the photos above, it doesn't actually look that way, it's light and blends wells! Promise... if you apply it correctly! And below that list you’ll find the VIDEO TUTORIAL!!! And, there are some silly OUTTAKES at the end so make sure to keep watching ‘til the end!!! 

How I Spent the Holidays - Part 2

Happy Monday, Everyone! I know what you’re probably thinking; ‘Happy’ and ‘Monday’ don’t belong in the same sentence, I feel ya, but that’s why I wanted to wish you all one, maybe it’ll help make it brighter! :D

So, today I wanted to get this post in for you guys since it was supposed to be up earlier in January and then things got crazy for me. It’s great to be back at it! I really missed you and sharing all that I can in creativity, inspiration, advice, and FUN! So let’s get on with it, then; my Holiday Post #2! On Christmas Day, after we all opened our gifts and had breakfast, we got ready and some of us (my Mom, sister, and I), who were able to, made the 2 ½ hour drive to surprise my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins with a Christmas visit. We always visit over the Holidays but rarely on Christmas Day. My mom really had her heart set on doing it this year and we all liked the idea… then some people got a bug that decided to make its presence known over night and that morning, and they had to stay home. But us girls had a good drive and great time spent with family when we got there and a tastey turkey diner. Mmmmm.

Next, let’s talk gifts!! I feel I was pretty spoiled with all the wonderful things I got. Here’s a couple pictures of a lot of the things I got. There were some other small stocking stuffers from Santa, like a nice Photography magazine, chocolates, candies, lip balms, ummm undies :P, and some other fun things. :) But these are most of my bigger gifts.

Pretty Holiday Makeup Tutorial - For All You Beauties!

Hayyyyy all!

How are you doing with your Holiday preparations? I’m a little behind, at least I feel I am, but hopefully I can get caught up this weekend. I did have time to make some delicious Shortbread Cookies (my favourite) and they turned out great! It wasn’t my usual recipe but I’m so glad I tried it!! Next week I will be sharing that recipe with you so if you like cookies, make sure you’re keeping an eye out for that post because you won’t want to miss these babies! Mmmmmyummmm! 

Sooooo this week I’ve done a Holiday Makeup Tutorial for all you beauties out there. Maybe you have a Holiday party coming up or you just want to look extra special over Christmas or maybe you’re looking for a great look for New Year’s Eve.
