REVIEW - Arteza Gouache & Paper + Timelapse

Friday, March 27, 2020

I don't normally venture outside of my usual art supplies too much -- maybe here and there -- mainly because I really like the supplies I currently use, and because art supplies can be expensive, so if I like what I've got going on, why not just keep going with it. But, I have been wanting to do more work with gouache for a while (haven't used it since college), and, conveniently, Arteza reached out to me to see if I'd like to try some of their art supplies a few weeks ago. I've seen a lot of fellow artists out there giving them a go, so I thought I would too. So, in this post, you can watch me make a little gouache painting and review some of the products I was sent. Take a look...

A Day In The Life Blogger & Artist - Plus A GIVEAWAY

Tuesday, June 5, 2018

I don't often do vlog style videos, but I was recently inspired by some other YouTubers to share a little more of myself on my channel. I shared a few things here and there, but have felt like perhaps there isn't a lot of place for personal stuff on my blog and youtube channel. I mean, I assume people come for the DIYs... which is probably mostly true, but for my regular subscribers, perhaps they'd like to feel more of a connection with me personally, and feel like they know me a bit better as a person, not just a DIYer. Perhaps my youtube family would grow to have more lovely people if I share more of me. It can be hard to put yourself out there... but today I'm starting out simple and inviting you to follow me along for a day in my life. If you'd like to see what I get up to in terms of my work day, keep reading... and perhaps I'll do more posts like this in the future... even if I think my life isn't exciting (is boring)...

Dupe, Not a Dupe - NARS vs Maybelline | Matte Foundations

Wednesday, June 29, 2016

I heard, from somewhere in the blogging/YouTube world, that the Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation was a dupe for the NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint, so I decided to put that to the test. Having already purchased the NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint, I was looking for something similar that cost less anyway, so I could extend my more expensive product by wearing the cheaper version on days when I'm not doing anything special but still want to feel put together. So what did I think? Watch the video to find out!

YAY or NAY - Reviewing NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint

Friday, May 13, 2016

Well, folks, I am back to business after my wisdom teeth oral surgery (all 4) one week ago. Things are going seemingly alright. I've been worrying the past few days about how things are healing--I won't go into too much icky detail--but the nurse at the oral surgeons office says everything sounds like it isn't anything to be worried about... so I am trying to take that advice... trying. Luckily I was able to get a couple videos recorded for you all before my surgery so I don't have to worry about doing any while I am trying to heal.

Anyway, today I've got for you all one of my YAY or NAY product reviews! I've been using the popular NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint for the past several weeks and I want to share what I think about that product with you all here today!

Maybelline Brow Drama Demo and Review & Brow History

Saturday, November 7, 2015

Eyebrows - not only do they help the rest of your face in conveying a wide breadth of emotions, but they are quite possibly the best accessory to your most beautiful look.

Brows have gone through many trends, from as far back as Cleopatra darkening her eyebrows with kohl, to the Ancient Greeks who wore false eyebrows and unibrows were desired, to the Byzantine woman who plucked them into thin straight lines and drew a thick line directly under the brow, and the Middle Ages when foreheads were the focus and eyebrows were often non-existent, on into the very thin brows worn by the silent film stars in the 1920s for that pensive look. These days, and since about the 1940s, women are sticking with a more natural looking brow, with the exception of a few years in between when thinner brows were “in”.

Monthly Beauty Buys for June & Yay or Nay Video!

Thursday, July 10, 2014

Bonjour, everyone! So, today I am starting this new Series called Monthly Beauty Buys! This one is for all my peeps who love being creative when it comes to Beauty Products or, like me, love being creative in ALL aspects!! I will be doing these posts once a month (duh, he he) and I’ll be showing you some beauty items I have bought and am liking each month. I may, from time to time, like I have in this post, do a “Yay or Nay” video for that Series I have started on YouTube where I give my first impressions of a new (or new for me ) product. Hopefully you guys will like this series and, if so, I will keep doing them! :D So, let’s get started!

So, I’ve got 3 items to show you guys that I am liking… I probably bought more than that in June… but I narrowed it down to 3 for this post. :)

First 'First Impressions' Video - 3 Products

Friday, January 31, 2014

Hey Peeps! :D

Finally, I’m back with a new blog post. I had a lot of set-backs with posting this month with my flight back after the Holidays was cancelled not once but twice. It was good to spend the extra time with my family so I didn’t mind too much but it did set things back a bit with my videos, and then I got sick right after I got home. It took me quite a while to feel better and to feel  healthy enough to record a new video so that it wouldn’t just be me coughing and sneezing and sniffling and just sounding awful… Eww!

Now that I am feeling much better I do have a new video for you all. You may or may not notice that my voice in the video still doesn’t sound quite normal… or maybe it’s just me who can tell. Anyway, this is my very first ‘First Impressions’ video. I got a few products while I was away that I wanted to tell you guys about so let’s get to it.

First I will show you a few pics and a quick intro to each product and then the video is just at the bottom of this post. :) So these are the products featured in my video:

Okay, so first up in the video will be this AWESOME pink, LIMITED EDITION COLOR Clarisonic Mia 2. I had been thinking about buying one after having seen many great reviews. It is a bigger purchase for me and I had to do a lot of thinking about it, but in the end I figure that if it helps with my skin (I have developed problem skin over the past 5 years or so) then it is worth the investment.
