All the guessing over on facebook is now over! Here is my first costume tutorial for this Halloween season - Disgust from the Disney/Pixer animated film "Inside Out"! This one was so fun to do - it had me laughing quite a bit while creating the look, and everything worked out so well! The only thing I wish is that I could have found a better wig, but I made do pretty well with what I did find! Here's a side by side of me as myself and as Disgust - she's adorable!

Hey there! Today I’ve got a shiney new hair tutorial for you guys! I’m showing you guys how to do this great Headband Hair Roll! It’s so easy and really pretty quick to do. It takes me longer to show you all how to do it since I am explaining things and moving slowly so you can see just how things are done, but it really can take as little as 5 minutes to do. So, really great for when you wake up late or need to run out quickly, just whenever you only have a few minutes but want to look like you didn’t just wake up in a ditch! Alright, let's tale a look at what you'll need and the tutorial.

Good day! Today’s post is definitely for the beauty lovers out there! I’ve got a great Spring/Summer makeup tutorial for you! This makeup look is great because you get just a hint of color on your eyes and a bright pop of color on your lips! When wearing standout colors on your lips it’s best to keep your eyes more subdued (unless you’re going for a very sultry, vixen evening look), so that’s why this slight hint of color works so great - it’s not a whole lot of bright on your eyes and a whole lot of bright on your lips competing for attention. It’s nice and fresh looking makeup, and perfect for a beautiful spring or summer day!

Happy LOVE Day! I've got 2 last minute nail art tutorials for you to fit in with the occasion. The first one you'll see is a bright nail that is an alternative for people who want something different than the usual pinks or reds and the like you usually see for the occasion. I've named it "Kisses in the Rain". The second one is for those of you who want to do something but prefer something more classic and subtle - something softer and less in yo face. I've named that one "Subtle Lovin'".Scroll down for step by step photos and instructions! :D

Yo! :)
First, I am going to introduce you to the color wheel. I know some, maybe even many, of you have already seen or worked with a color wheel. A color wheel is a color wheel no matter if you’re talking about painting a canvas or painting your face (aka putting on makeup) and the same goes for color theory; it is basically the same no matter the application. The color wheel is used to explain the theory of colors and their relationships to one another. Here is a color wheel (click to enlarge):
So, today I’ve got a nice post for ya! I’m going to be talking about the basics of color theory and how it relates to choosing the best eye shadow colors for your eye color to make them really pop and stand out. I will cover a bit about eye liners as well (look for this toward the end of the post), but, primarily, this will be about eye shadow.
Now, keep in mind that this doesn’t mean you can only wear the colors of eye shadows I suggest here, or that other colors won’t look nice on you, this is just a guide, a very basic one, to what colors should, according to color theory, make your eyes pop the most. So, if you have some favorites, don’t dismiss them just because they don’t fit in this guide. The most important thing is that you feel good in them! ;) Alright, now let’s get started!

I’m sure you’ve all heard of primary (red, blue, yellow) and secondary colors (orange, green, purple) from as far back as elementary school…some of us may have thrown out that knowledge in favor of other important information to store in our memories, but I’m sure you’ve all hear of them at some point. ;) We won’t be worrying about those in this guide, but I’m just mentioning those because that would have been the beginning of your color theory education. What we will be focusing on are complementary colors, which are the colors that appear opposite one another on the color wheel – these colors, as the name suggests, complement each one another when placed adjacently. Some of you may even have an understanding of these already. If so, great, you already know what eye shadows will complement your eyes best, you just may not…know.. it! You know it, but you don’t know you know it…got it? If not, don’t worry, just take a look at your trusty color wheel and you’ll find them. So, red compliments green, yellow compliments purple, orange compliments blue, and so on. And this is how you’ll choose eye shadows that will make your eyes pop the most!

K, Folks!
Here is my Costume Idea #2. As I said in my last post, and I do apologize, I meant to have more ideas than just 2 this year, but things happened. But, I’m still excited for this one because it is a Budget Costume Idea! All the supplies can be purchased from either the Dollar Store or Walmart for very little money – I would say for between $10 to $15! It’s a Day of the Dead Calavera or, more commonly known as, a Sugar Skull makeup tutorial!

It’s a become a very popular trend in North American countries and many others and since this is a late post, being it is only a day until Halloween, this is great for last minute Halloween plans! It’s also great because you can’t really make a mistake doing the makeup. If you’re a guy, then you can do without the scalloped edge eyes and head piece and it works for you, too. So, here’s what you’ll need to achieve this look:

Hi Beauties (and Handsome...ies)!
Well, I’m finally here with my first Halloween costume option for you all! It’s a Katy Perry look from her Dark Horse video - Wicked Egyptian Queen!! It was a pretty fun one to do so I hope you all like it!
Unfortunately I will only have 2 Halloween costume ideas for you this season. :( I had a couple of others planned but things didn’t go as planned for me this month. I started out strong but, while I was visiting home in New Brunswick, two unexpected things occurred: there was funeral I stayed a little longer to attend and I passed out, for unknown reasons, and tweaked my neck which left me in pain with a heating pad and Advil to help me through. The 6 hours I spent on a plane to get back were even less comfortable than usual. :/ Buuutt, anyway…
So, this costume is what I will be sporting on Halloween. I don’t show this in the video, I will post some photos on facebook and Instagram on Halloween, but I plan to make the shoulder/bodice piece out of cardboard and some gold spray paint. I know this won’t help anyone who decides to use this tutorial since it’ll already be Halloween, but I suggest you try and do the same if you’re gonna wear this as well! It really just has to get the look of the costume across – imagine trying to create an accurate piece like that just for a Halloween costume! If you’re interested in this look then you probably know what I’m talking about from the video…if not, go watch Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse” video! ;)

Hey Folks!
For all you out there who love having your nails looking great, today I have for you my DIY Nail Wrap tutorial.
I’ve been planning out showing you all this for so long now and am finally getting to it. I’ve started to see other people figuring it out for themselves, so I figure there’s no better time to get this tutorial to you all! This truly will revolutionize doing your own nails and getting really cute designs on them with ease. You know how hard it is to work on your nails using your non-dominant hand? This helps with that too and it makes creating straight lines much easier!
Scroll below the video to see additional tips for making these DIY Nail Wraps and without further ado, here is the video:

Hey Lovelies!
So, I haven’t done any beauty posts in a while and I decided it was time (sorry fellas who follow). What I have for you is a video tutorial for a Keira Knightley look I came across online that I just loved! I don’t often wear a lot of darker or smokey eye makeup but it’s fun to do when the impulse strikes and I just had to try this one out for myself. So, take a look:
No, I’m not fooling myself into thinking that I look anything like Keira, but that doesn’t mean I can’t copy her makeup! ;) I didn’t style my hair like hers, but if enough of you request it, then I’d love to do another video for the hair part to complete the look. You can leave me those requests in the comments section of either this blog post or the video on YouTube! This is my final look:
So, now, here’s a list of the products I use to recreate the look. You, obviously, don’t have to use the exact products I do… you can, but don’t have to. Just use the same colors in whatever you have or can find at the store. Also, as I say in the video, the bronzer appears slightly orangey in the video, but as you can see in the photos above, it doesn't actually look that way, it's light and blends wells! Promise... if you apply it correctly! And below that list you’ll find the VIDEO TUTORIAL!!! And, there are some silly OUTTAKES at the end so make sure to keep watching ‘til the end!!!

Hi all you awesome people!
Today is a great day, not only because it’s my birthday, but because I’ve got another video tutorial for you!! Yipee!
The video I have prepared for you guys is a Nail Art Tutorial. I really love the sorta vintage color scheme of blush and turquoise and, from there, I’ve really taken a liking to other vintage looking things recently, like the pattern that inspired this nail tutorial. What was once old becomes new again. I like to call it ‘Modern Vintage Style’… is that already a ‘thing’? ha ha. Here’s a look at the nails I’m showing you how to do:

Hi Everyone!
I’m so glad to be back with a new video! Yay! If you’ve been following me on facebook (if you haven’t, well, what are ya waitin’ for? Facebook.com/theCreativeGlow) then you know all about my troubles this week. When I finally got to film my video I was interrupted a few times with the barking dog, and I was going to include it as outtakes at the end of my video, but I just chose not to — trying not to dwell on the negative. :) Would you have wanted to see my annoyed faces? Comment below.
Alright, so, in this video I am showing you a cute casual hairstyle. It looks very feminine and pretty but might take a little practice. I’ve tried to explain the as best I could and I’ve included some additional diagrams in this post that I could not show in the video itself, just in case a little more clarification is needed. It’s not a typical waterfall technique; it’s more of a variation of. If you guys are at all interested in me doing a tutorial on the actual waterfall technique, then just leave me a little comment below letting me know. ;) I aim to please ‘cause I luv ya! But, for now, here is the hairstyle I’m showing you in this video:
Pretty cute, isn’t it? Okay, so you’ll find the video tutorial below, and remember, don’t get discourage if you don’t get the hang of it right away — you will! And once you do, it’ll be a breeze. You can also find those extra diagrams I mentioned, with a little more of an explanation, here on this post just below the video! Have fun!

Hi Everyone!
So today I have some fun news for you and an informative video. This video was a request I got on facebook since I made mention of my makeup brush shampoo in a previous video.
I’m showing you the products I use to care for my makeup brushes and how I like to use them to make sure my brushes are nice and clean… and I really like to stress the “nice ‘n clean” part… you’ll see if you take a look at the BLOOPERS at the end of the video. So here is the video… but don’t get distracted and forget to read the rest of this post :), I have some fun news to share!

So, now that you’ve watched that, you can see that I was a little repetitive… but it really is important to keep your brushes nice and clean…really!! :D Also, as I mention in my video, there are so many similar products out there, but I’ve been using these and they work, and I notice my skin staying clearer since I have been. There are a few other things I do that have helped, but I’ll save that for another post. If you guys would like to see a post on how I’ve gotten my skin to clear up then please leave a comment in the comment section of this post.

Hayyyyy all!
How are you doing with your Holiday preparations? I’m a little behind, at least I feel I am, but hopefully I can get caught up this weekend. I did have time to make some delicious Shortbread Cookies (my favourite) and they turned out great! It wasn’t my usual recipe but I’m so glad I tried it!! Next week I will be sharing that recipe with you so if you like cookies, make sure you’re keeping an eye out for that post because you won’t want to miss these babies! Mmmmmyummmm!
Sooooo this week I’ve done a Holiday Makeup Tutorial for all you beauties out there. Maybe you have a Holiday party coming up or you just want to look extra special over Christmas or maybe you’re looking for a great look for New Year’s Eve. This look will be perfect for any of those and could also be worn for any other special occasion. Take a look!
So, that's pretty scarey...baring the pretty-much-no-makeup face to the world, but I've done it bravely....for you guys! ;) I guess I did it in my Zombie Makeup Tutorial too, but this time there's the photo, just staring back at me...ya.

Hello again, Everyone! :D Soooo today I am really excited because I’ve got 2 things to blog about. First, my video. Well, the whole thing, from beginning to end, was an experience. Ha Ha. Over the time it took me to set everything up I knocked over my background panels several times and knocked over one floor lamp, spilled 2 different drinks and cleared anything that was on my coffee table. :) But, it’s all in the fun of doing something for the first time. I learned a lot so I can do it better and more efficient next time.
So for this video, I decided to do a hairstyle tutorial. I’ve had a lot of strangers compliment this hairstyle and ask how I’ve done it which was the inspiration for starting my blog, and so, it’s only fitting for my first video. But, if you’re following my blog and you’re not into hair and makeup and maybe more interested in Art/Design/Crafts rather than beauty tutorials, don’t worry, there will be plenty of those in the future as well and, in fact, I plan on having something more crafty for my next video. It’s all about being creative here and I like to express that in many ways! ;)
